Gabriel Greene is the author (with Alex Levy) of Safe at Home, a site-specific show that premiered at Mixed Blood Theatre in March 2017 (winner, Ivey Award), and (with Tom Salamon) the immersive theatrical event Goosebumps Alive, based on R.L. Stine's bestselling series of novels; the show premiered at The Vaults (London) in April 2016. His latest play, created with Mia Fiorella, is Reindeer Games, a site-specific holiday show that is not -- he repeats, NOT -- an adaptation of the Ben Affleck movie.

He currently serves as the Director of Artistic Development at La Jolla Playhouse, where he has overseen the development of more than two dozen new plays and musicals, including world premieres by Ayad Akhtar, Robert Askins, Jeff Augustin, Rachel Bonds, Joe DiPietro & David Bryan, Lindsey Ferrentino, Kirsten Greenidge, Darrell Hammond, former U.S. Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera, Ike Holter, Quiara Algeria Hudes & Erin McKeown, Hansol Jung, Kristen Anderson Lopez & Robert Lopez, Des McAnuff & The Flaming Lips, Melissa Ross, Claudia Shear, Herbert Siguenza, Michael Benjamin Washington and Sheri Wilner.

In addition to his work at the Playhouse, he has dramaturged shows on Broadway and London's West End, as well as regional theaters such as 5th Avenue Theatre, Berkeley Rep, New York Stage and Film, New York Theatre Workshop, the Playwrights' Center, Playwrights Horizons, South Coast Rep's Pacific Playwrights Festival and Steppenwolf Theatre (where he served as literary manager from 2003-2007). He has also worked with Disney Parks Live Entertainment, and served as the dramaturg for Professor Samuel L. Popkin’s books The Candidate: What It Takes to Win — and Hold — the White House (Oxford University Press, 2012; New York Times Book Review notable book) and the upcoming Crackup: The Republican Implosion and the Future of Presidential Politics (Oxford University Press, 2021).

He is a Chicago native, a graduate of University of Michigan and Trinity College Dublin, and is married to marketer/rower/hockey player extraordinaire Mia Fiorella.
